No More French Maids?

Gizmodo reports that Smart Parking Meters, first produced by, and installed in France, are coming to the UK. The United States may be next. The meters can detect the presence of cars and the expiration of meters. When it does detect a violation it links to the police station and tells them to come on out and ticket you thus making meter maids obsolete. However, that is just the beginning. You may be able to pay with your cell phone and get a text cell phone warning when your meter is about to expire.
