Researchers at Baylor University have not only created bio-diesel from coconut oil, they have also manufactured floorboard, trunk liners and car door interiors from coconut husks, a waste product of coconut oil production. The researchers, according to this article from Gas 2.0, hope the coconut-based car parts will supplant environmentally damaging plastics.
