Introducing The MINI JCW Coupe Endurance To Take On Nurburgring 24
MINI has revealed the MINI Cooper JCW Coupe Endurance racer in advance of the Nurburgring 24-hour race this weekend. The vehicle will participate in the race. The race car is powered by a the same 1.6-liter as the production vehicle, but power has been boosted to 250 hp, while the overboost function pushes peak torque up to 330 Newton meters (243 pound-feet).
The vehcile includes a roll cage welded to the body and a sports bucket seat with six-point safety belt and Formula One-style HANS (Head And Neck Support) system. The car's brakes are supported by Race ABS from MINI Challenge racing and have a specially tuned DSC dynamic control system optimized for the race track. For fast pitstop tire changes MINI has also fitted the Coupe with pneumatic jacks.
