Detroit Free Press Decides The Price Of The Coupe Is Not Justified

Mark Phalen posits in his Detroit Free Press article that the MINI CS Coupe is not "cute enough" to justify the purchase price.  Phalen says, in part:

The Mini Cooper S coupe is a bit like that backwards baseball cap. It's a statement of style with few concrete benefits.

That limits its appeal sharply in a market with many attractive, sporty, efficient and affordable small cars.
